Jeg Coughlin III made a name for himself as a golfer, winning a state championship in high school and earning a golf scholarship to Ohio State University.
The son of legendary NHRA driver Jeg Coughlin Jr., Jeg III, or "Jeggie" as he is known, is now transitioning to an important part of the family business, JEGS High Performance.
Coughlin III will soon complete his Family Resource Management degree at Ohio State University. As he completes his studies, he has jumped into the business founded by his grandfather, Jeg Coughlin Sr., working in analytics and social media to help the company grow.
Jeggie has tried his hand at drag racing, racing a Junior Dragster under the tutelage of his famous father. But Jeg III realized at a young age he preferred the solitary test of golf. After a successful prep career, including the 2013 Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III golf championship, Jeggie earned a spot on the Ohio State golf team, making his family proud and happy, as the Coughlins are long-time fans of the Buckeyes.
Jeggie has been a stalwart on the Ohio State team, finishing in the top 10 in the 2018 Big 10 Championship. Jeggie has been rock solid in the classroom, too, earning OSU Scholar-Athlete honors in 2017 and 2018, and he was named Academic All-Big 10 in 2018.
